Theresa Kahl
Co-Artistic Director
No stranger to the dance community on the Western Slope, Theresa has been instructing, choreographing, and educating all aspects of dance through local dance studios and schools for over 30 years. She has trained extensively in all styles of dance and has worked and continues to work with some of the nation's leading master instructors and choreographers. In addition to being highly active working with all levels, ages and styles of classes at the school of Absolute Dance, Theresa is a regular guest with Colorado Mesa University. Her commitments to dance in the Grand Valley are endless for why she sought out Colorado West Ballet to be formed. Former students who have trained with her have gone on to receive scholarships to prestigious universities and dance programs across the states including Edge Performing Arts Center, Orlando Ballet, Boston Ballet, Alonzo Lines, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet and have started to develop careers of their own in dance, dancing for companies such as Shen Wei, Orlando Ballet, Nashville Ballet, State Street Ballet and various contemporary companies and other commercial work. She strongly believes there is a place for everyone in dance and looks for diversity amongst dancers.

Angie DeWolf
Co-Artistic Director
Angie was born and raised in Greenville, PA and received her formal ballet training from the Lake Erie Ballet in Erie, PA under the direction of Sharon Filone. Here she had the opportunity to train under many renowned instructors including Bruce Marks, Duncan Noble, and Marcia Dale Weary. She went on to continue her ballet training in college at Michigan State University where she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology/Pre-Med and a Specialization in Dance. While there, Angie was a member of the Michigan State University Repertory Dance Company and the Greater Lansing Ballet Company in Lansing, MI, where she danced many soloist and principal roles. Additionally, she participated in a cultural exchange program with the Vaganova Ballet of St. Petersburg, Russia. Angie joined José Mateo Ballet Theatre's professional company (JMBT) in Boston, MA in 2004 where she had a storied 15-year career dancing many soloist and principal roles including the Snow Queen and Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. She originated principal roles in many of Mateo's works including Risk of Repetition, Released, 1796, The Even and the Odd, Affairs, and New Pasts. During her performing career at JMBT, Angie also joined the School's Faculty, teaching students of all ages, from children to adults. She later went on to become Ballet Mistress for the professional company, Director of the School's Upper Division, and Director of the pre-professional performing group YouthWorks. She also served as Program Administrator, working with the organization's administrative staff. Angie was also the Rehearsal Assistant for the Boston-based professional modern/contemporary dance company Urbanity Dance, was a guest choreographer and teacher for the Harvard Ballet Company, and most recently she was the Ballet Program Director at Wilmington Dance Academy in Wilmington, MA where she directed and produced their inaugural production of The Nutcracker. Angie is a guest and master ballet teacher, classical and contemporary ballet coach, as well as choreographer. Her choreography has received many accolades such as Outstanding Choreographer at various ballet and dance competitions. Angie is thrilled to be joining Colorado West Ballet and is looking forward to working with their incredibly talented dancers to bring professional ballet to Western Colorado and beyond.



Anthony Noa
Rehearsal Director
Noa began his ballet studies at the Alabama School of Fine Arts and after an introductory period of schooling shifted his interest toward pedagogy and choreography. Over a twenty year period he danced as a soloist and principal with many ballet companies such as Ballet UAB, Cincinnati / New Orleans City Ballet, Berlin Ballet (Deutsche Oper in West Berlin), Nevada Ballet Theatre, Ballet Austin and as a principal guest artist with the Serbian National Theatre in Yugoslavia.

For ten years he was the Artistic Director for Northern Plains Ballet, a full regional company and pre-professional school, and then a professional ballet company. During his time with NPB, he was awarded a certificate of excellence by the Governor of North Dakota for his educational contributions to the Bismarck Public Schools, and two NEA grants.
